[CARTOON] What's that smell?

>
Inspired by a news story of how the cleanup of the Great Lakes is underfunded. I led the readers (and maybe the editor) a little astray..... the two fish are Tuna, and Tuna doesn't live in the Great Lakes. Besides, Tuna are funnier than brown trout.

[CARTOON] Lettuce with E. Coli dressing...

>
Is it just me or are there more food recalls these days? In Ontario (Canada) they recently recalled Dole brand bagged lettuce (the kind that is pre-washed and cut up). Well, somehow they got E. Coli contamination. The lettuce in question was called,"Heart's Delight".... maybe they should of called it "Diarrhea Delight".

Special notice: My "iCig" cartoon is currently showcased on Jane Chin's blog. Check out her medical blog at http://www.nakedmedicine.com/ She even expanded on my cartoon and showed how Apple selling cigarettes would actually be a good thing.

[CARTOON] Rising Canadian dollar

Just as recently as 4 years ago the Canadian Dollar was also known as the Canadian Peso; trading as low as 62 cents US. In the past year it's been on a tear rising to 98.5 cents US. Of course the downside is any manufacturer exporting from Canada is taking big hits in their profits and many have been forced to layoff workers. Where I work (in Canada) they estimate we lose $200,000 in profit every time our dollar goes up a single penny.... and they told us that about a year ago when it was around 75 cents US....

Steve Fossett

Based on TRUE recent events. A millionaire who went on a plane trip without submitting a flight plan went missing. So many people went looking for him that in the process of searching the area, they found EIGHT uncharted crash sites! Some crash sites were decades old, but something tells me they weren't millionaires...

Anyhow, hopefully they'll find him okay.

[FM8451-22] GM Layoffs

...with recent layoffs at GM, surely there must be less robots working as well.
PS: the weird code in the title is part of a registration process. Pretty soon you will be able to subscribe to Past Expiry Cartoon on your cell phone. Isn't technology neat?

Vulcan Mind Meld

Inspired by a true story in which a guy had his winning lottery ticket scanned, only to have the machine tell him he only won one prize, while it in fact had won 2 prizes. After scanning the ticket again, the machine got it right. The lottery corporation obviously downplayed the incident.
