[CARTOON] Shawshank Redemption

"If you ever saw the movie Shawshank Redemption, you'll recall Morgan Freeman narrating: I wish I could tell you that Andy fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but prison is no fairy-tale world. {If you haven't seen the movie, you should.}"

[CARTOON] Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is an animated television special, based on the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz. Its initial broadcast took place on October 27, 1966, on the CBS network. Charlie Brown's repeated line of "I got a rock" caused some stir among many viewers of the show, according to Charles Schulz in the book and retrospective TV special "Happy Birthday, Charlie Brown." Schulz said that after the program first aired, bags and boxes of candy came in from all over the world "just for Charlie Brown."

[CARTOON] Swine Flu Vaccine H1N1

"I drew this cartoon with a nagging sore throat, chills, aches, and the occasional hotflash. Various H1N1 vaccine clinics have started recently but with news reports of LONG line-ups lasting hours. Not too conducive to people like me that work for a living. Perhaps I'll be creating my own anti-bodies the old fashioned way if I acutally have the flu now."

[CARTOON] Swine Flu Diet

"Although unpleasant, the easiest way to lose weight from my perspective is to get the flu. You don't eat, you don't feel like eating, you sweat alot, and the pounds just come off. You also get time off work, but there's a chance you might not survive the H1N1 flu, so it might be a permanent vacation..."

[CARTOON] Swine Flu Pigs

"If a pig gets a flu, does it sneeze? Maybe one day swine flu and bird flu will combine to create a super-flu. Hmmm, potential cartoon idea..."

[CARTOON] Twitter Prozac

"It seemed like not that long ago, if someone asked you what you were on, they meant which drug or medication. Now it seems the more popular question is Are you on Twitter? Yes I am, on Twitter. Follow me under the name @pastexpiry"

[CARTOON] Iron Lung

"Inspired by those freaky images from the 1950s of large hospital wards filled with iron lung machines and the polio victims inside of them. Approximately 30 people in the US still use an iron lung. One patient spent 60 of her 71 years in one. I guess in that case you really would want detachable faceplates to liven things up."
