Recently, the Canadian government closed a tax loophole called income trusts to prevent a growing number of corporations from converting into income trusts. Sadly it affected the two individuals in the cartoon as well...

Inspired by recent statistics showing that Ontario lottery clerks win a disproportionate number of large lottery prizes, and a news story of how one lottery clerk pocketted a 78 year old man's winning "pick 6" ticket after telling him that he just won only a free ticket.
